Coffee Ping ("Coffee Ping", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Coffee Ping mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
Location data
- We collect location coordinates when you choose to be visible in an active visibility session.
- We use this data for nearby matching and suggesting walkable meeting spots.
- We do not collect location in the background when the App is closed.
Profile information
- Display name: the name you choose for your profile.
- Avatar color: the color shown with your profile in the app.
Device and notification data
- Push token: your iOS push token, used to deliver app notifications.
- Notification preference signals: in-app and OS permission state used to determine whether notifications should be sent.
Message and coordination data
- Messages, match state, and suggestion events needed to provide core chat and meetup coordination features.
Safety and support data
- Reports, block actions, and moderation-related metadata used to enforce safety policies and operate support workflows.
Limited service telemetry
- Operational and diagnostic events used to maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and improve the App.

We do not sell personal data and do not share personal data with third parties for behavioral advertising.
3. Data Retention
- Availability session location rows: non-active session rows are retained up to 30 days, then removed by retention tooling.
- Messages and match records: retained while needed to operate the service and safety workflows, and deleted when you delete your account.
- Profile data (display name, avatar color): retained until account deletion.
- Push tokens: retained until sign-out, token refresh/replacement, or account deletion.
- Reports and safety records: retained as needed for abuse prevention, legal compliance, and enforcement integrity.
4. Third-Party Services and Processors

We do not use third-party ad networks in the App.
5. Your Choices and Controls
- Stop visibility anytime: you can end your visibility session in-app.
- Location precision controls: iOS settings let you allow or disable Precise Location for Coffee Ping.
- Delete account: in-app account deletion removes your profile and associated core app data.
- Notification controls: iOS settings let you revoke notification permission anytime.
If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or other regions with applicable privacy rights, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal data by contacting us.
6. Age Requirement
Coffee Ping is intended only for adults. You must be 18 years or older to use the App.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has used the App, contact us and we will investigate and delete data as required.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our service providers operate. We take steps designed to require appropriate protections under applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the dates above and publish the revised version through our normal channels.
